Around Green Shores

Green Shores is conveniently located between the market town of Holt and the coastal towns of the North Norfolk Coast, making it easy for you to explore the inland or coastal attractions. There are Award winning blue flag beaches with in easy reach; you could take a stroll on Holkham beach, looking for the sea at low tide, or a boat trip to see the seals at Blakeney Point. Take in a spot of bird watching at Cley Marshes while relaxing in the visitor centre, or walk the trails and see what you can see.

If the weather is against you attractions such as The Muckleburgh Collection, in Weybourne; or the Fisherman's Heritage Centre in Sheringham; or The North Norfolk Railway offer you the opportunity to do something different. Alternatively see what is on at the Little Theatre in Sheringham or take in a Pier show in Cromer.

There are many interesting activities happening in the area, with Sheringham offering many interesting events through out the year. Carnival week, the Viking Festival, the Potty Festival and the 1940's weekend are a few options, and a travelling circus visits at various dates in the summer months. 
KELLING HEATH HOLIDAY PARK - VILLAGE SQUARE

The Village Square is the heart of the holiday park. Paved and landscaped to blend with the natural beauty of Kelling Heath, it's a bustling yet tranquil location in which to relax with the morning paper, a lunchtime snack or an evening drink. Enjoy the facilities that lead off from the square or seek out information on the daily activities at Kelling.

Providing a store, bar and restaurants that are free to be used by any one visiting the park. Evening entertainment and outside activities such as tennis are available. Additionally the Health and Fitness club can be used via daily or weekly passes. 

THE POPPY LINE


The North Norfolk Railway (Poppy Line) is Norfolk's premier steam railway comprising 5.25 miles of track with 3 main stations and a halt at Kelling.

Travel from Sheringham, Weybourne or Holt and enjoy the age of steam.

Trains run on most days from early March until end of October, and every 45 minutes from July 26th to end of August.

Special events include: the beer festival, steam gala, Thomas the Tank Engine and the famous '40s weekend.

Weybourne Station is only a 10 minute walk from Green Shores.

muckleburgh collection

Located just outside of Weybourne, as you head along the coast road towards Salthouse.

This old anti-aircraft training camp has been transformed into an interesting and educational Military museum. With a wide variety of exhibits and displays including many types of vehicles, most of which are undercover. You can even book a tank ride.
1940's weekend

Originally started as a small event focusing on the Poppy Line The 1940's weekend has now expanded into a major 3 day attraction with vehicles, parades and entertainment at either end of the line. Taking place every September for more than 10 years.

Sheringham and Holt are taken over by a wave of nostalgia with the majority of people dressing in period costume.

Grab your hat and come along, enjoy the evening vehicle parade, the walking parade (on Sunday) or just soak up the atmosphere and marvel at the spectacle.
